Here are the unmodified pencil/ink versions of a few of my recent pieces. Although a lot is gained when the color is eventually added, a little something is always lost too.
Raphael: There's a few different ways I go about it, but in every case I'm painting on a scanned and reprinted version of the linework, not the original pencils. Sometimes I'll composite the color and original pencils, sometimes just use the painted print. It's all done in Photoshop.

Hey I really love your stuff! I was wondering when you add color how do you stop the pencil from smearing and mixing with the watercolors?
